Mask Are Flooding the Streets

Covid-19 has stayed its visit way longer than we ever thought it would. This meaning over time, what comes with it will have an impact on our day to day lives, as well as the future. As many of us are trying to stay safe, we also need to keep in mind what we do with our masks when we discard them. Many times these masks end up in oceans or around wildlife instead of being disposed of where they’re supposed to be

Face Mask

I have seen hundreds of masks in parking lots, restaurants, stores, schools, etc. I hate seeing this because it is really bad for the environment, plus it just shows how lazy we are as human beings. At www.fda.gov, it states, “If your mask is damaged or soiled, or if breathing through the mask becomes difficult, you should remove the face mask, discard it safely, and replace it with a new one. To safely discard your mask, place it in a plastic bag and put it in the trash. Wash your hands after handling the used mask.”  With this being said, stay safe, wear your mask and sanitize while also being mindful and disposing of your garbage properly. Just the little things we do could affect our world so positively, or negatively.
