The Eruption at the U.S. Capitol Building

Jeremiah Ramsey, Reporter

One of the craziest riots in history happened on January 6th at the U.S. Capitol Building. The riots were reportedly thousands of Donald Trump supporters supporting him because he claimed the election was “stolen” from him. They breached the police perimeters and stormed the building. While they were inside the U.S. Capitol Building they vandalized it and looted it as well as assaulting police officers that were inside. Once the security was breached by the protesters the Senate and House of Representatives were evacuated as well as the building being put into lock down. Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick was one of the five that died during this tragedy and dozens of other people were injured as well. The Capitol was cleared by mid evening and the chaos was done and over.
