NFL Conference Weekend

Keenan King and Daniel Serna

The first game of the day was in the AFC between the No. 6 seed Tennessee Titans vs. the No.2 seed Kansas City Chiefs. The Titans just came off a big road win in the divisional round against the No.1 Baltimore Ravens to advance to the Conference Championship game and the Chiefs came up with with a comeback victory over the No. 4 seeded Houston Texans. Leading up to the game all the talk was about the Titans running game with Derrick Henry because he has been nearly unstoppable, leading all rushers in rushing yards in the playoffs, and the question was could Kansas City stop the run game. But when game time came the Titans jumped to a 10 point lead after the 10 point lead Kansas City outscored the Titans 21-7 to end the half with a 21-17 lead. After halftime Kansas City ran away from the Titans thanks to Patrick Mahomes unbelievable performance to punch the Chiefs ticket to its first Super Bowl in 50 years. The Last game of the day was in the NFC between the No. 2 Green Bay Packers vs the No. 1 San Francisco 49ers. All the talk during the week was this game was going to be a great game until game time the 49ers took a 27-0 lead over the Packers at halftime. The Packers struggled to get points on the board in the first half. In the start of the second half, the Packers were finally able to score a touchdown and get them on the board. The Packers had a dominant 4th quarter with 13 points, but it still wasn’t enough as the 49ers held them off. Now coming Sunday February the 2nd, the Chiefs and the 49ers will face off for the Lombardi trophy in Miami.
